Pedro Riera
Pedro Riera (Barcelona, 1965) is a writer with a long career, although he has not only dedicated himself to literature. In fact, he studied Information Sciences and has worked in television, cinema and advertising. He has published several YA novels that have won different awards, such as El Templo award for La criatura del bosque (“The creature of the forest”, ), the CCEI award for La leyenda del bosque sin nombre (“The Legend of the Forest With No Name”), the Edebé award for La tumba de Aurora K (“Aurora K’s tomb”) and the Ciudad de Málaga award for Cara de otro (“Other’s face”). One of his latest novels, Un relato de violencia, (“A Tale of Violence”), was selected as one of the best titles of 2020 by different magazines and organisations. As a comic script writer, he has published El coche de Intisar (“Intisar’s car”), a graphic novel about the situation of women in Yemen, which received the France Info award for the best current affairs and report comic in 2013, and its sequel, Intisar en el exilio (“Intisar in exile”), which won the Entender El Presente Splash Sagunt award. © Photo: Ana Portnoy.
